I. Regulation of Legal Profession

• Duty of Competence: Must provide competent representation (legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, preparation).
• Duty of Confidentiality: Cannot reveal information relating to representation without informed consent (subject to exceptions: death/substantial bodily harm, financial fraud prevention).

II. Conflicts of Interest

• Current Clients: Cannot represent if representation is directly adverse or creates a material limitation. Informed consent in writing can waive certain conflicts.
• Former Clients: Cannot represent a new client in a substantially related matter if interests are materially adverse.

III. Conduct

• Candor to Tribunal: Cannot knowingly make false statements of fact or law to the court.
